Las Chimeneas is an inspiring little hotel in the mountains south of Granada, Spain. We have a deserved reputation for great food, great walks and great location. Our team here really do care about our guests - just check out our reviews. Still going strong after fourteen years, stronger in fact, Las Chimeneas now has more rooms and studios and a growing number of regular visitors. People keep coming back to enjoy the lovely rooms with amazing views, our fine restaurant, the walks and above all the warm and caring welcome by our committed team. At the same time we provide a unique insight into a traditional and fragile mountain community: most evenings there are informal walks and talks at local monuments, the Mairena olive press, the ancient church of Jubar and our organic farm where we provide commentary on local culture, farming techniques and the legacy of Islamic Spain and the Spanish Civil War. This is a great way to meet the other guests before going back to enjoy a glass of wine before dinner and another great meal prepared by our wonderful chef, Soledad, who, incidentally, is also an inspired and inventive vegetarian cook.
Set amongst a network of locally marked walking routes and the long distance GR7 footpath at heart we remain a dedicated walking centre but with lots of other things going on, ranging from informal cookery demonstrations, yoga to local visits. Depending on the time of year we can also fix you up with horse riding, painting classes, private Spanish class or an expert massage. Check out our website for special interest weeks such as travel writing and cookery courses.
