SAN LORENZO OLD GROCER'S SHOP "ABACERIA": Definition Grocer's shop where olive oil, vinegar, dried lentils, chickpeas and cod are sold Located in an old Sevillian house of the 17th century, the old San Lorenzo grocer's shop, now a restaurant, was just one part of the ground floor of the building when it started in 1995, and little by little it was enlarged, till it occupied the whole ground floor. After some refurnishments in 2007, the restaurant also occupied the first floor of the builiding. With these works, we have tried to keep and make the most relevant parts of the building stand out, such as its facade and the tower on the top. These structures are located at the corner of the two streets where the restaurant is situated. Our restaurant has tried to restore those little shops which were very common in our city till the middle of the 20th century. In those shops, while the shopkeeper was selling his products, he used to invite the customers to try them and also, he used to share a glass of wine with them. We have always tried to sell first quality products, sometimes unknown to our customers, and of course, food and drinks made in Andalusia. As time went by, we started to recover traditional dishes, which more and more customers are enjoying, as they bring them back memories from old tastes, and they really feel at home with us, both with our dishes and with our cozy atmosphere. We have more than three hundred dishes you can either enjoy at our restaurant or take home with you including, the best chickpeas, beans and lentils, tinned natural vegetables, honey, jams, tinned fish, Iberian ham, a great variety of goat, cow and sheep cheese, bread varieties, seasonal traditional cakes, wines, spirits, the best olive oils and vinegars for dressings.
